Here's exactly
how this works.

No endless swiping. No "hey" as an entire opening line. Just a map, a wink, and whatever happens next is on you.

Wink app map with live heatmap and nearby people
This is the actual map

Not a mockup. This is what opening Wink looks like.

Every glowing pin is a person nearby who's opted in. Every warm cluster is a hotspot — a park, a coffee shop, a venue — ranked by how much is actually happening there right now.

  • Tap any pin to see a profile and send a wink
  • Category markers show what's nearby beyond people — music, coffee, green space
  • The bottom card surfaces the top event happening near you right now

The core loop

Three taps.
Zero cringe.

Everything in Wink is built around one loop: see who's around, signal interest, and let the two of you take it from there.

1
🗺️

Open the map

See who's around and where the energy is. Gyms, cafés, parks, clubs — every spot shows its live pulse before you awkwardly show up alone.

2
😉

Send a wink

See someone worth meeting? One tap. It's anonymous until they wink back — zero risk of a "seen 3 days ago, no reply" situation.

3

Connect for real

Mutual wink? You're in. Chat, join the room at your spot, or just walk over and say hey like it's 1998. Wild, we know.

4
🛡️

Your safety, your rules

Ghost mode, fuzzy location, instant block. You're always the one who decides who can find you, and when.

Questions people actually ask

Let's get the obvious ones
out of the way.

Is this just a dating app?+
No. Wink is built for dating, fitness partners, study groups, professional networking, and nightlife alike. You choose which contexts you're visible in — the map doesn't assume why you're using it.
What if nobody's around?+
You'll still see the heatmap, and you can broadcast your own event to bring people to you instead of waiting. Density grows city by city — check the map before you head out so you're never guessing.
Can I control who sees me?+
Yes — visibility is a one-tap toggle: fully on, fully off (ghost mode), or on only for a specific event window you set yourself. Turning it off takes one tap from anywhere in the app.
Is my exact location ever shown to strangers?+
No. Strangers only ever see an approximate radius, never a precise pin. Exact location unlocks only after a mutual wink — and even then, you can keep it fuzzy if you'd rather.
Is it free?+
Yes, Wink is free to download and free to use. An optional Wink+ tier adds extras like unlimited winks, profile boosts, and seeing who winked you first — but the core app never requires payment.
